The Vales are the three cottages on the left of the top picture. They still stand today and now overlook Bishopton Primary School. Pictures taken 1905 & 1998.Much of cottages seen above are still there. The building work going on (you can see the material lying on the right hand side of the top picture) is making the cottages on the right of the bottom picture.
The road going off to the left in the bottom picture is The Crescent, a cul-de-sac that leads to the rear entrance to the school. Much of the vegation remains. The trees in the background of the middle right of the bottom picture is the start of The Woods at the rear of Bishopton (sandwiched between the village and the ROF factory)
At the end of the road in the lower picture is The Bishopton Community Field (known as the ROF field in the past). |
