Bishopton Parish Church
It was Erskine Parish Church up until the end of 1998.
There has been a church in the parish of Erskine since the 12th Century. That church was demolished in 1813 due to the dangerous state it had deteriorated into. This photo shows the church when it was opened in 1915. The Lords of Blantyre have a special pew in the loft of the church.

The church is due to change its name to Bishopton Parish Church in 1999 to stop confusion with Erskine Town close by.

You will see that the trees and bushes have gone and the "walled garden" at the front is gone. As churches go its well maintained and inviting. Thanks to a deal with Compaq the church now has a large car park for its use.
