Photo History

The Bishopton Hotel has been in the village for at least 100 years. The exact date it was built is unknown to me, however, I will try to get that information.

The building was demolished in the 1930's and a new hotel built. The picture was taken in 1911 when owned by the Hood sisters, it was bought by Findlay Darroch in 1920. Like all Bishopton pubs it is a popular venue for a meal and a pint. They have tried to keep to their roots in the internal decor.

Like the Golf Inn photos, you can see that the road has come out from the buildings. It is now one of the busiest junction in the village.
