Photo History

Crossgates. The photo on top was taken in the 1920's. The two-story house, Hope Cottage dates from the 18th century. The truck is a Paisley Co-op Fiat, and the cottages that the workmen are working upon have since been demolished.

In the distance is the Former Erskine Free Church, built in 1843. It is now a church hall housing playgroups, dancing classes and Sunday school.

The area across from the church that was farm land at the turn of the century is now a housing estate.
