Porton Road, taken in 1922, named after the village of Porton which makes up one of the two villages that merged to form Bishopton, was renamed Kingston Road, due to the confusion with the number of roads, at that time, with Porton in the name. Quite a change here. It's worthy of note that the area around the house prominent in the top photo is housing estates.The boys walking in the 1922 picture are in school uniform. Lower picture was taken in 1998.
