Kingston Cottages. At the top of Kingston Road you'll find the Kingston Cottages (now you know where the road got its name when it changed from Porton Road) Little has changed in the time between 1924, when the top picture were taken, and 1998. The telegraph pole is gone and pavements are now here with trees and bushes abounding.The names of the cottages are reflective of the times. Winnowlea, Stravannan, Norwood and Lindisfarne.
