Greenock
Road
There are two main roads in Bishopton, Old Greenock Road and Greenock Road, the later being the main road through the village and its the road on which most of the amenities and businesses are located.
As you can see from the two photos, the cottages on the right have remained unchanged and the gap in the houses seen on the modern day photo now houses the Gospel Hall. At the end of the road you can see the Golf Inn and some trees. The raised wall to the left of the bottom photo is the Church Youth Hall. The building on the left used to be a very popular butchers, it is now the home of the Chapati, a kebab and curry take away. |
