The Golf Inn and Smithy in 1904, the second view of the Golf Inn. To the right of the Golf Inn is the Smithy. The Smithy is now Smithy Cottage (web central) and the gap, in the lower picture, between the Golf Inn and Smithy Cottage is the entrance to the Golf Inn car park. The shop on the left of the top picture used to be a green grocer, the Golf Inn bought this over and turned it into a off sales.
The most significant change is to the road. The road is now higher as well as further away from the Golf Inn, this is due to the railway bridge (or tunnel) of the Gourock to Glasgow line. Again, outside what has been noted, little has changed in these pictures.
